RARE 1948 STANDARD 12 DHC RESTORED CONDITION.

 

 

The 1948 Standard Twelve Drophead Coupé (DHC) was one of the last classic pre-war-style models produced by the Standard Motor Company of Coventry before transitioning entirely to the modern, streamlined Standard Vanguard.

The Drophead Coupé coachwork was built by Mulliners of Bordesley Green, Birmingham.
1, 609 cc inline 4-cylinder side-valve petrol engine. 4 speed manual. 12volt electrics. After market indicators fitted but the original semaphores also work.
* 1948 marked the final production run for the Standard Twelve, as Standard Motor Company consolidated its entire vehicle range under the single-model Standard Vanguard policy late that year. Far fewer Drophead Coupés were made compared to the standard 4-door saloons, making surviving 1948 DHC models highly sought-after and rare.

* 1948 STANDARD FLYING 12 TOURER DROPHEAD COUPE 
A stunning and rare example of this 1948 vintage convertible Coupe which has undergone a high standard of restoration work over the last 10 years of ownership, the waterfall front grill and other chrome work is in wonderful condition, as is the paintwork and interior with a new mohair hood and upholstery.
The car starts on the key and drives well.
* The waterfall radiator grille is such an iconic look . Our Standard 12 DHC is in exceptional condition having been part of a large collection which was all fastidiously looked after and used up to approx 2 years ago . The car has been regularly started and run and is performing as one would expect. The bodywork and paintwork are both excellent as is all the bright work. The Mohair hood fits very well and is as new . Looks excellent up , or down . The interior has been restored to a very high standard and presents in showroom condition as does the rest of the car .

* This is a very rare car here and abroad and in superb condition. Cars in general in 1948 were not built in volumes and always a hard era to source . Our Standard DHC is probably the best for sale in the UK at the moment and offers fantastic value for money.
