FORD MODEL A – 4 DOOR TOURER – RHD – 1928. FULL RESTORATION.
ts widely known here at Belvoir Classic cars we love a nice Model A. One big attraction is the amount of variants that can be obtained. Ford set out to provide every combo you could think of . This is a 1928 4 door open top tourer RHD. The previous owner has owned this car car for some 24 years. Upon importation from South America, (the car has always been RHD), at that time it was used very little and put into a full body off restoration in 1999. This is documented and pictured in the large history file. At this time it was given a full rear axle re-build, front axle re build inc all steering and brakes, all new wiring, it is currently still original 6 volt but using a much improved high output alternator. Full engine rebuild inc cyl head. Full gearbox rebuild. Full new interior which to this day is as new. This includes quality carpet panels as opposed to the normal rubber mats. Full bodywork and repaint in original colour scheme. This was done 23 years ago and still looks excellent not withstanding there are some age related cracking around the fuel cap. After 23 years this is testament to a quality job. The original spoke wheels are in superb order and are shod with quality tyres that have not done many miles. There is the addition of a foldable luggage rack and a bespoke Black period luggage case has been made. There is also the addition of indicators which are wired back to a period chrome indicator stalk mounted on the steering wheel. There is also the addition of the radiator chrome stone guard which always finishes the front end off lovely. The glass wind deflectors are a factory addition normally put on a deluxe but again really set the car off nicely. The front windscreen is a safari screen and is simply pushed forward should you require air conditioning. The period electric wiper works too. Under the dash there is a fuel shut off lever and a battery isolator. The battery is new. This nearly 100 year old car drives lovely and although restored 23 years ago is still looking fantastic. With the hood up in case you find yourself having to use on a rainy day its fine. The hood is as new as are a complete set of side screens so fairly water tight if the heavens open. The running boards have aluminium side step for front and back passengers.
To summarise a very well sorted and restored Model A tourer which is in fantastic shape (not new and not concours) but very nice. There is a full HD video available upon request. Trailered transport offered at our cost .
Trailered transport at cost if needed. Part ex welcome for similar high standard classics.
