MGA ROADSTER MK1.  1957 – FULL CHASSIS UP RESTORATION.

 

1957 MK1 MGA Convertible/ Original UK RHD .
Fully restored from bare chassis up. MGA is ready for a new owner.
Previous owner owned this car for just over 12 years. . It has only covered a maximum of 150 miles since its restoration. Many thousands of pounds spent , much of which is documented. The car is detailed everywhere.
Just installed to enhance further the look of this lovely detailed MGA . Brand new set of 48 spoke Chrome wire wheels, plus all new hubs and spinners and new inner tubes . (£3000)
-The car has had some major restoration work undertaken between 2010 and 2019. Car was off the road for the whole decade it was being done. The body was stripped and removed from the chassis, all rust areas replaced and it had a full respray in its original Old English White.
- The chassis frame was stripped and sent to a specialist for restoration. The rolling chassis was rebuilt using new parts where necessary. All welding was professionally done by Paul Baker Custom Metal Works.
- It has had a new hood and tonneau cover.
- The hood frame was also rebuilt
Boot lid luggage rack.
- New carpets, new floorboards
- It has a heater
- Gauges cleaned and replaced as necessary with new glass and new chrome bezels
Mechanical
- Starts on the key and is run up regularly since rebuild . It needs running in due to the limited mileage covered since the rebuild
- Engine and gearbox are in good working order having been rebuilt by the previous owner. 
New exhaust etc.
- Carbs retuned.
- The rear differential was rebuilt.
- New propshaft and joints.
- Ancillary equipment (starter, alternator, distributer were all cleaned and repaired where necessary.
- New bearings, bushes, ball joints, shock absorbers etc. All Chrome replaced, new screen surround and windscreen. New bumpers front and rear , new front grille, new bonnet grilles etc etc
- Brake system completely overhauled, with new copper pipes, new master cylinder, new wheel cylinders. Original drum brakes all round now all new.
- New tyres,
- All chrome replaced
- Comprehensive file of receipts / invoices. plus pics on a memory stick.
- All paperwork for body restoration.
The car drives very well indeed , hard to believe this is 66 years old now , everything works as it should.
