Willys Jeep M38A1, 1957.
A Willys Jeep M38A1, registered 1957, seeing service in the Royal Dutch army up until 1982, where upon it was then imported into the UK, and stored ready for Nato service.
The Jeep has had a full body-off restoration, being done to show standard. Everything has been removed and restored, or replaced, including: All brake lines, hoses etc. all electrics, all fasteners and hoses, steering, suspension, new roof, new doors – the list is endless! The brand new doors have never been on. There are new seats front and back, the list goes on… True attention to detail has been thoughtfully considered - the correct oil filter, the original whip aerial, military spade, towing plinths, and lifting shackles, all being present and correct!
The engine bay and underside are both detailed to concourse standard, and are immaculate. The all important 24 volt electrics have all been reviewed and all work as they should, including the interesting wartime blackout lights. The Jeep drives very well, and the high and low 4 wheel drive is all working correctly. There are no mechanical or cosmetic issues at all.
Recent work on the jeep includes, a full oil change, using the correct oil, and a full greasing being performed to the underside. The Willys Jeep is ready to use and show, and maybe earn a few prizes. Detailed research shows the V5 log book correctly registers the jeep as a 1957, so no MOT etc. is required.
