FORD MODEL A, SPORTS COUPE – RARE AND BEAUTIFUL!

 

Ford Model A Sports coupe 1931. A rare find of the Model A large range. Ford endeavored to cover every option of vehicle type to appeal to everyone and they succeeded. This model the Sportsman is a rare find especially in the Uk. It has all the looks of a cabriolet but it isn’t . The roof is fixed.
 

My Model A is fully registered correctly and ready to go and show. Restored and Imported from California. An original California plate comes with the car. This show standard example has all the bells, whistles and Claxton horn!! The paintwork is blemish free and she polishes up very well indeed. The Cream and Black go together so well. This has the option of twin side mount spare wire wheels shod with Firestone whitewalls and Ford tyre covers. Also this model has the option of the Deluxe twin marker lights on the bulkhead. There is also a foldable luggage rack on the rear. Twin number plate brackets have been mounted ,One being for a show plate. A Chrome radiator stone guard has been added. New step plates in polished ali and new ali step plates for the Dicki seat have also been replaced. New period number plates to correct size and a new chrome surround are a nice touch.
 

The electrics have all been converted to 12volt with a new loom. 12 volt battery with isolator and a new 12 volt alternator. This is a recognised and standard conversion. The water pump has also been renewed to the non maintenance sealed type. Indicators have been retro fitted with a a column mounted indicator stalk. The interior is also immaculate. The rear Diki seat all functions correctly with good gaps all round for opening and closing. This area is also excellent and is carpeted.
 

To summarise an excellent show standard Model A in the rare configuration of the Sportsman. Detailed engine/engine bay, very clean under carriage, great paintwork, excellent factory wire wheels with twin side mounts painted in the correct colours. This is a one uk owner since imported from Sunny California.  I love it !!!
