AK 427 COBRA-440 BHP CHEVY LS3- 2ND GEN - AWESOME, JUST STUNNING!
AK 427 Cobra. 2nd generation with new 440 BHP Chevy LS3. 90 percent factory build. Being a classic dealer of many years with an excellent reputation, this sale is for my own car. When searching for one I only wanted the standards of AK and wanted the lovely LS3 fitted. My Cobra has everything I wanted. The Colour is beautiful, the interior is the same. Wheel and tyre set up are exactly what I desired, and the engine and 5 speed transmission is fantastic and quick.
Details are as follows:
2nd Gen AK chassis built 2013.
18 inch Halibrand replicas with hidden wheel nuts and 3 eared alloy spinners.
Suspension is XJ40 with adjustable Gaz Shocks.
Brakes are XJ40 with out-bored discs and AK handbrake set up. Handbrake lever is “on the fly” so out of the way.
Gearbox is a 5 speed Tremec new when built with twin clutch plates for lighter and smother clutch control. Drive train continues into a rebuilt XJ40 Diff.
Engine is a brand new(not recon) when built Chevy LS3.If you’ve had small blocks before with the cast iron block etc this is so far advanced giving 440BHP very smoothly. All ali engine which is bullet proof as shown in all late Corvettes etc. The ECU unit is an upgraded Omex system. The engine bay is dressed in polish stainless. Aluminium radiator and silicone hoses.
Power steering is fitted, being precise, and easy to use.
The sound is awesome, whether stationary, or flying along. Twin 7 inch stainless side pipes, with catalytic converters, and stainless escutcheon, to protect body work.
Body work is all factory AK, and is painted in MG Trophy metallic Blue. With a little twist to the standard Cobra stripes with a nod to the racing history of Caroll Shelby. Grand Tour stiping to one wing. All livery is painted on not stickers. Stainless stone guards. Bonnet and boot have gas struts. Twin locks on the bonnet. Triple nose vents and full “open mouth “ radiator opening.
Full wet weather kit, including foldable roof, side screens and full tonneau all of which fit in the boot.
All bright work is as new, recently changed the stainless bumper overiders from the quick change jack lift type to old school overiders. Gives a real touring car look, I feel.
Boot is fully carpeted, and houses a new battery with isolator.
Triple stainless wipers, double stainless roll bar hoops. A nice touch, not seen that often is Double Gt style fuel fillers, which both feed into a single tank, looks great and handy when pulling upto the pumps.
The interior is brilliant. Plenty of legroom in an AK, unlike so many other builds. Newly fitted period Moto Lita wheel with polished hornpush etc. 4 point Willans harness. All gauges are Smiths with Blue back lighting.
Comes with a long MOT, private Cobra registration number, with new tin period plates.
In Summary, in my opinion, one of the nicest 427 Cobras around. Ninety percent factory built, with everything you could want, and all at the right price. Reason for sale is I have my eye on the ultimate hot-rod which is twice the price, so this has to go first.
