MGB ROADSTER/OEW/DETAILED RESTORATION, WITH OVERDRIVE.
1972 MGB Roadster in Old English White with Oxblood interior and hood. With Overdrive. Detailed restoration.
This is a stunning and highly detailed original UK supplied MGB roadster with some subtle changes and is of show standard. Originally supplied on 25/2/72 by an MG dealership in Weymouth. In the large history file is the original sales passport that came with the car new. This shows the car was originally White with Navy trim. The restoration was done as a labour of love and included the following. The underneath is highly detailed. Painted in OEW with just about everything being refurbished or replaced new. The suspension inc leaf springs, wishbones, steering, coil springs, ball joints, brakes inc all copper lines, exhaust etc etc the list goes on and on. The back axle has been out and taken apart and refurbished. The gearbox has been out and refreshed with new clutch etc and all painted as per original and replaced. The overdrive unit was all checked over and new wiring. The car has had a new period wiring loom. The engine bay was all treated to the same amount of detail and again is worthy of any show ground. Everything has been to pieces and refurbished or replaced. The only non standard extra is the new polished aluminium rocker cover. The heater system has all been apart, refreshed ,repainted and reinstalled. The level of detailing is amazing. The Oxblood interior is again beautiful and is as new. Whilst a shell a new sound deadening mat was installed before the new Champagne colour wool carpets were fitted. The all new interior was done in the style of the Abingdon limited edition touring edition. The original Black crinkle dash is now a smooth Old English White. Instead of the usual carpeted panel behind the seats covering the battery lid a small storage space has been very clever created all in matching trim. It looks factory fit and to be honest very surprised I have not seen this addition more often. It really look the part. The “Moto-Lita “ wood rimed wheel set the period look off brilliantly. The paintwork is excellent and the car is super straight. The Oxblood hood and hood frame are both very good. The Hood has the zip out rear plastic window and the Two small quarter plastic clear plastic window panels. The original Dunlop wheels have been repainted and have new chrome trims. Should the ever popular chrome wire wheels be a preference we would supply and fit the whole kit including spinners, hubs, including a matching spare. We would do this upon receipt of a deposit and would charge only approx 50 percent of its normal cost. £1000 to be added to the price of the car should this be required.
The amount of work completed on this lovely MG is fantastic and done with a passion. There are nearly 200 photos in the file showing most of this work. The car is now ready to be enjoyed.
Trailered transport offered at cost. Part ex always welcome for similar standard classics.
